Contemporary Art Projects USA will exhibit about thirty national and international artists in the largest impressive curated booth at the RED DOT MIAMI Art Fair that takes place this year at Mana Convention Center in Wynwood. A significant number of important Galleries from around the world will offer an outstanding overview of Modern and Contemporary Art.

Anoukart will be exhibited within our Booth R103, located at the Main Entrance of the Fair and across from the VIP Cafe & Lounge Area,  displaying a variety of media and styles, from Abstract or Geometric to Figurative, from painting to photography, sculpture and ceramic installation. Due to the interesting themes approached by the Artists and the well-balanced curated conception for the presentation of meanings, shapes, and colors, the exhibition will be attractive and significant for the Art Fair visitors of any age and walk of life, as well as a ‘must see’ for the Art Collectors and all the Art Basel Miami Week viewers of this year.

Anoukart is the artistic name of the creative Artist from the Netherlands, Anouk van Tetering, specialized in Fine Art photography. Anouk graduated from the Gerrit Rietveld Academie, International University of Applied Sciences for Fine Arts and Design in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. The new series by Anoukart take inspiration from the small vintage objects that she has been collecting over the years, such as tiny vintage Chanel bottles, old keys, buttons and a variety of other interesting items that she has used as a key theme and subject for her beautiful and exquisite large Artworks. These masterly depicted objects are revealing secrets that would otherwise be too small for the naked eye. Anouk was awarded an Honorable Mention in the 2018 International Photography Awards for her Series From a Different Point of View. The IPA is one of the world’s most prestigious Awards in the genre of Photography. The jury panel was integrated by a group of inspiring experts, including Bob Ahern, the Director of Archive Photography at Getty Images global digital media company, New York, NY, and David Clarke, former Head of Photography, at TATE, London, UK. It can be noticed how the works by Anoukart adhere to the aesthetic principles of symmetry, focal point, pattern, contrast, perspective, three-dimensionality, and proportion. The objective of contrasting a neat black background and a perfect focused colorful image is to produce maximum visibility, as when the more contrast exists the more noticeable the central item is. To accentuate the depicted subject to be noticed, Anouk has chosen the idea of ‘bigger is better’ and the center, as the most important place in the format, where usually the viewer will look first and anything that is positioned there is likely to be initially noticed. Therefore, she has cleverly applied all the aesthetic principles for Fine Art, such as an item that stands apart from its surroundings will be more noticeable, making sure it is large, brightly colored and has high contrast. The main image will also be sharply focused, as for her Artworks’ theme and artistic message fuzzy images would be too soft looking to grab attention. Placed in the center of the format, the primary object stands out from its surroundings by contrasting against them (light against dark) and has a definite different color and texture from the background.
Anouk says about her Artworks and sources of inspiration: “In this age of fast social media, it is just magical for me to pause for a moment and take a closer look – everything has its own beauty and is often overlooked. There are many details and secrets that are hidden away from our eyes. If you would just zoom in, a whole new world opens up.”
Anoukart works have been shown in relevant sites around the world. The Contemporary Art Projects USA Booth at Red Dot Miami 2018, presents two Museum quality Artworks of photography C-Type print mounted behind matte acrylic, edition of three, 40 x 60 inches, respectively entitled Dirty Memories and Sweet Memories. Due to their large format and mastered technique in the management of a precise resolution and light, as well as the interesting theme depicted on them, these Artworks will be a great success for Art Collectors and visitors at Red Dot Art Fair during Art Basel Miami week.
