Artist Profile
Daniela Escalon Imbers (Dabers) | El Salvador
.
Daniela Escalón Imbers (El Salvador, 1993), known as Dabers, is a conceptual artist based in Guatemala. Although she studied Advertising in Spain, her bond with art began in childhood and grew stronger in 2020, when she left her career to dedicate herself fully to creating. Her work explores grief, inner transformation, and emotional resilience, especially after the loss of her mother—a turning point in her life. Self-taught in fluid media, Dabers has developed her own technique, moving away from the conventional use of resin. She explores its possibilities intuitively, breaking rules and using tools like sticks or her fingers to draw shapes and silhouettes without restraining its natural flow. Through this contemporary language, she captures contrasts of darkness and light, emotions, and processes of evolution. This unique approach allows her to transform an abstract drop into symbolism that embodies beauty, fragility, and strength—like the metamorphosis of a butterfly. She has participated in group exhibitions such as Arte en Mayo (Galería Rozas-Botrán), Sumarte (Museo Marte), and has collaborated with artists such as Gaby Salaverría and Thelma Espina.
