MDC West Campus Announces “Fancy Reign: Miami Royalty” by Alina Poloboc

Miami, FL — May 7, 2025 — The Miami Dade College West Campus, in partnership with Contemporary Art Projects USA, is proud to present “Fancy Reign: Miami Royalty” by acclaimed Miami-based artist Alina Poloboc. The exhibition will run from May 7 through September 3, 2025, culminating in a closing reception on Wednesday, September 3rd. The event is free and open to the public.

Alina Poloboc, born in Bender, Transnistria (an independent region within Moldova) in 1991, has cultivated a global artistic presence, splitting her time between Miami, Florida, and Palma de Mallorca, Spain. Her artistic journey ignited during a two-year stay in Bolzano, Italy, where she discovered her passion for painting. Inspired by a transformative holiday in Palma de Mallorca’s luminous environment, Alina dedicated herself to formal art studies, turning her passion into a vibrant career.

“Fancy Reign: Miami Royalty” features a dynamic series of abstract portraits celebrating Miami’s flamboyant spirit. Inspired by the diverse individuals she has encountered since relocating to Miami, Alina’s work portrays characters from the city’s lively social scene—bold, eccentric, and unapologetically expressive. The paintings burst with energetic textures, electric colors, and layered compositions that reflect the rhythm, heat, and glamour of Miami life.

Crowned silhouettes and regal motifs emerge from splashes of paint, symbolizing a new form of nobility—one defined not by lineage, but by presence, confidence, and individual flair. The collection pays tribute to contemporary kings and queens who lead their worlds with style, attitude, and an unmistakable spark. It celebrates individuality, freedom, and life’s chaotic, beautiful energy.

Alina Poloboc’s work has been showcased at prominent international art fairs including Art Miami’s Context, Palm Beach Contemporary, and Art Wynwood, among others.
