FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

September 19, 2017. MDC’s West Campus Presents Henrik Welle Exhibition: Under the Sea… Inside the Pool in collaboration with Contemporary Art Projects USA, and curated by Mariavelia Savino

Miami Dade College’s (MDC) West Campus will present Under the Sea… Inside the Pool,  an exhibition by artist Henrik Welle inspired by the passion of the artist for Underwater photography, that he accomplishes under the waters of the Sea and in the Pool and curated by Mariavelia Savino. The exhibition opens at 11.30 am on Thursday, September 28. The opening ceremony will include a conversation with the artist. Free and open to the public.

Under the Sea… Inside the Pool consists of three unique Artworks by Welle based on an underwater photograph of a Coney Fish Species taken  in Turks & Caicos, with a Cannon 50D, 60mm lens at 25 Feet depth. The fish with its intense gaze is a central hero in diverse situations, witty questions, ironies and metaphors about human behavior. Closer to our conscience, we see it acting and thinking like a human that could grow  to be a part of ourselves. These Sea Underwater colorful images will be complemented by a group of seven photographs of marine corals and plants by Henrik Welle. The other main wall of the gallery will be dedicated to present four black and white staged photographs taken inside a Pool.

The exhibition will take place from September 28|2017 – December 11|2017.
