New York born worldwide celebrated Urban Realist, combines cutting-edge techniques of street art, POP and Japanese animation for his own genre of trend-forward works. His unique style inspired by Keith Haring, Andy Warhol, and his mentor Ronnie Cutrone, Warhol’s assistant at The Factory during his productive prestigious years. Cutrone’s bright fluorescent colors influenced Warhol, shaping Paredes color palette. In the 80s, Paredes studied at Fiorello LaGuardia High School of Music and Art. In 1998, created PKGRAPHICS.COM graphics and printing company. Integrating street graffiti, landscape, and POP art, he crossed from street walls to fine art collections from Los Angeles to Seoul. In Miami Beach, had a studio at the Art Center of South Florida, selling all pieces in one of his shows. In 2010, was Artist-In-Residence at the National Hotel during Art Basel Miami Beach; donated Pulgha World, 18′ x 26′ mosaic mural landmark in Wynwood Arts District. In 2011, opened Miguel Paredes Fine Art Gallery nearby, unveiling a 3D interior mural, Brownstone Lounge, a collaborative with Miami-based interior designer 3D specialist, Jeff Vaughan, and Broadway scenic designer/producer Antonio Marion, Marion Theatrical Productions CEO in NYC. Paredes received simultaneous proclamations from the City of Miami Beach and Village of Pinecrest for his mosaic mural donation The New Yorker/Senator to Miami Design Preservation League’s Art Deco Welcome Center, South Beach, honoring his support of historic preservation, devotion to the city and impact on the community. Mayor Cindy Lerner unveiled with him two art projects at Pinecrest Elementary, a 24′ tile mosaic and a dog sculpture, part of the SmARTy Dog for SmART Schools program fundraising for electronic Smart Boards in classrooms. Paredes was Official Artist of the 12th Annual Latin GRAMMY® Awards creating artworks for VIP invitations, commemorative tickets, a collectible poster and official program book. As a judge in the 2011 BOMBAY SAPPHIRE® Artisan Series, Paredes supported Russell & Danny Simmons’ Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation and Complex Media searching undiscovered talent in visual arts, the semi-finals held at his gallery and finale during Art Basel 2011. Paredes signed with ACME Archives to create artwork for Disney Underground, as a visual artist from the urban underground POP art. His Disney work is top at Acme’s licensed art worldwide, including Acme Gallery at FAO Schwartz Fifth Ave, NYC. Paredes’ Japanese inspired digital series Pulgha™ & Birds, a magical flea and her friends, the Birds Yori and Kosue, join forces for good. William Morris Endeavor Agency signed to represent Pulgha™ collection as a branded cartoon series. An animated sitcom, The Wheelies is under development. In 2012/13, had solo and group shows at top galleries like KNOWN GALLERY 3 man show with RONNIE CUTRONE & KYLE WILLIAM HARPER, also represented by LAB ART GALLERY. In 2013, signed with Mercedes SMART CAR for custom made Mercedes Vehicles and had a solo show at the Coral Gables Museum. In 2014, joined Astrella Celeste, Astrellainc.com, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee Donovan, passing his iconic collection of music legend images and album art to his fashion designer daughter, Astrella, launching a line of t-shirts featuring Queen, The Who, Cyndi Lauper among others, and a line of clothing. Bloomingdales has his designs, such as Elton John and The Who. In 2015, created and Art Directed the social media platform ZAPSTREAM, making murals for the headquarters in CA, ZAPPY the character & logo, joining all creative aspects. In 2016, worked murals and commissions for STK South Beach, Baptist children’s hospital, Miami Dade College, and NYC private homes. Solo Show during Cannes Film Festival at Francl Art Gallery and exhibits in Paris, France.
