FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Contemporary Art Projects USA – Red Dot Art Fair. Art Basel Miami Week. December 2-9|2018

Miami, FL, USA – About thirty national and international artists will show in the largest impressive curated booth of Contemporary Art Projects USA at the RED DOT MIAMI Art Fair that takes place this year at Mana Convention Center in Wynwood. A significant number of important Galleries from around the world will offer an outstanding overview of Modern and Contemporary Art.

The Artists presented at our Booth R103, located at the Main Entrance of the Fair and across from the VIP Cafe & Lounge Area, will display a variety of media and styles, from Abstract or Geometric to Figurative, from painting to photography, sculpture and ceramic installation. Due to the interesting themes approached by the Artists and the well-balanced curated conception for the presentation of meanings, shapes, and colors, the exhibition will be attractive and significant for the Art Fair visitors of any age and walk of life, as well as a ‘must see’ for the Art Collectors and all the Art Basel Miami Week viewers of this year.

Ricardo Cardenas-Eddy, Invited Artist of Red Dot Miami Art Fair, will present his Muses Series honoring the theme of the fair [ILLUMINATE] to show new trends in the contemporary arts. His sculptures inspired by the Art Muses of Zeus in the Greek and Roman Mythology will be welcoming the art lovers and collectors at the entrance of the fair. The Muses of Ricardo are sculptures made in concrete, which is the characteristic media used by Cardenas-Eddy either for his paintings or his sculptures. The resulting Artworks, composed of cement and steel bars, will appear as if they were digging out from a cement block or wall.

Ricardo Cardenas. The Muses

The Mis Musas (My Muses) Series by Mexican Artist Ricardo Cardenas are inspired by the Art Muses created by Zeus in Greek and Roman Mythology. The Muses of Ricardo are sculptures made in concrete that is the characteristic media used by Cardenas either for his paintings or his sculptures. The resulting Artworks, composed by cement and steel bars, will appear as if they were dig out from a cement block or wall. Each of the bases on which they will stand has a solid color to represent the wall from where the piece is coming. All the sculptures will be unique for their color and used technique, as for the finishing touches varied materials will be applied, such as wood, metal, resin, paper or paint, among others. Their themes and names will be diverse, like the languages used for the title of each sculpture. The Artist’s goal is to transmit a Universal Message. Every Muse is depicted in a human scale in order to obtain a closer approach to reality and they will not have a special race, gender or age, as the idea is to eliminate stigma. For the selection to be presented by Contemporary Art Projects USA at RED DOT Art Fair the Muses are minimalistic and faceless, one in silver tones, the other multicolored. In addition, Contemporary Art Projects USA has been invited to present during Art Basel Miami week a Solo Show by Ricardo Cardenas at the Delano Hotel, where one of his Muses will have a mask with a mirror glass, in which each viewer will be able to see him or herself reflected on it and to feel as a Muse of Ricardo.

The gallery will present Kelly Fischer as Guest Artist, Swiss/American Artist who is the hand that produces vibration contacting the human soul. Abstraction has endless meanings and presentation, but, as Wassily Kandinsky, 1866-1944, told: “sensibility will always remain as the last instance.” Abstract Art leads to simultaneously experience the effects of color, form, and symbol. Viewers reach sensations and thoughts provoked by Art. Abstract artists depict feelings and emotion taking over subject life rendering, expressing ideas or sensations through simplified forms, re-inventing movement and volume. To celebrate Kelly Fischer Art, I quote American Masters, Jackson Pollock (1912-1956): “When I am in my painting, I am not aware of what I am doing because the painting has a life on its own” and Jean Michel Basquiat (1960–1988): “One line is important”.
